Sarasota

Properties in the city of Sarasota range from older houses on established lots, with mature trees and roots to work around, to newer homes where the yard never got past the builder's basics. A common starting point is the front of the house: a cracked concrete drive, bare beds, and a lawn that struggles in the sun.

That kind of job often grows into a full front-yard renovation, with the drive, the beds, and the palms built together.

02

Lakewood Ranch

Lakewood Ranch is a large master-planned community east of I-75 that crosses the Manatee–Sarasota county line. Many of its neighborhoods have HOA or architectural-review guidelines for things like paver colors, wall materials, and plant choices. Bring those to the on-site visit so the design starts from them.

On newer lots, the usual gaps are a builder driveway that is too narrow, a small slab out back, and little between you and the house next door.

03

Manatee County

Manatee County sits just north of Sarasota County. Beyond Lakewood Ranch, we work with homeowners in other parts of the county as well.

Call with the city or neighborhood and we will tell you whether the property is in range. The job runs the same way as anywhere else: free on-site look, one crew, and a walkthrough at the end.

04

Nokomis & Casey Key

Nokomis sits between Osprey and Venice, with Casey Key, a narrow barrier island, just across the water. Waterfront and inland lots ask different things of a landscape.

On the water, salt spray, wind, and sandy soil narrow down which plants will thrive, and decks and patios are usually laid out toward the view. Inland, drives, front beds, and privacy screens between neighbors are the usual starting points.

05

Osprey

Osprey sits along Little Sarasota Bay between Sarasota and Nokomis, with bayfront properties and neighborhoods farther inland.

Bayfront yards bring the same salt and wind questions as the islands, and the pool deck and back yard usually face the water. Inland lots more often start with the driveway, the entry walk, and the beds out front.

06

Palmer Ranch

Palmer Ranch is a master-planned part of Sarasota County between the city of Sarasota and Osprey, made up of many separate neighborhoods, many with their own HOA. As in Lakewood Ranch, the neighborhood guidelines are the place to start for paver colors, walls, and plants.

Where homes sit close together, privacy planting along the side and back lot lines pairs naturally with a new patio or pool deck.

07

Siesta Key

Siesta Key is a barrier island off Sarasota, and island yards have their own conditions: sandy soil, salt spray, wind, and often tight lots. Plant choices lean toward salt-tolerant and low-water options, and grass-free or xeriscape front yards suit the setting.

Pool decks, entry walks, and privacy screens between neighbors all fit island lots well, and planting and hardscape can be planned together so a small yard does not feel crowded.

08

Venice

Venice runs from homes near the Gulf beaches to newer communities farther inland. Near the water, the same salt and wind questions apply as on the islands.

Inland, newer homes often need the driveway widened or extended, a patio added out back, and planting to screen the neighbors. When an extension has to match pavers or wall block that are already there, that is part of the plan from the first visit.

(04)Every area

The same job, wherever the property is.

Whether the house is on an island, on the bay, or in a new neighborhood inland, the process does not change. You call or email, Craig comes out for a free look at the property, and the same crew builds the job with Craig on site until the walkthrough.

Every area has its own conditions, from salt spray on the keys to HOA guidelines in the planned communities, and those are worked into the design at the first visit.
